CHERRIES winger Jaidon Anthony is off to Wembley with loan club Leeds United after the Whites romped past Norwich City last night to secure a spot in the Championship play-off final.

After a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg at Carrow Road, Leeds blitzed their semi-final opponents at Elland Road, racing into a 3-0 scoreline at half-time before running out 4-0 winners.

With Leeds comfortably winning, Anthony was brought on in the 75th minute, helping the side to see out the victory.

This season Anthony has made 37 appearances for Leeds, playing just 857 minutes.

Whilst Leeds are unsuccessful in five previous attempts at promotion via the play-offs, Anthony has experience at going all the way.

He helped Weymouth earn promotion back to the fifth tier in 2020 via the National South play-offs.

Anthony and Leeds will now face the winners of tonight’s semi-final between West Bromwich Albion and Southampton.

Saints also have borrowed players on loan from Cherries, with midfield duo David Brooks and Joe Rothwell hoping to join teammate Anthony at Wembley on Sunday, May 26 (3pm).

Like Leeds and Norwich, West Brom and Southampton could not be separated in their first leg, another 0-0 draw setting up a winners-take-all clash at St Mary’s.
