AFC BOURNEMOUTH boss Andoni Iraola says he does not know what more Dominic Solanke could do to earn an England call up, believing that the Cherries’ talisman will be selected for this summer’s Euros.

Solanke had the ball in the back of the net three times as Cherries lost 2-1 at home to Brentford, with two strikes controversially ruled out.

With Bees striker Ivan Toney now seemingly a permanent fixture in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, discussion around Solanke receiving a call-up of his own dominated the pre-match conversation.

Toney was relatively quiet at Vitality Stadium, with England coach and former striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink watching on from the stands.

Discussing Solanke’s international hopes, Iraola started: "I don't know what more he can do.
“He is playing very well and he scored a great header. But it is not just about the finishing, it's about everything else he gives to the team.

"I think he's very complete and I think he will be there. He has been really consistent and proven he is a very good player."

Iraola also told BBC Radio Solent: “I think everyone knows Dominic Solanke, it’s not that they came to see him.

“He has been scoring goals consistently all season, it’s not that he’s on a good run or in a good moment. All the season he has been playing the same way, scoring goals a lot of things, with the ball without the ball.

“I think he will be in the squad.

“I will be very happy for him, because he wants to go, he is pushing a lot to go.

“He has started all the games, even with an ankle issue where he stopped sometimes in training.

“He wants to help us until the end, he is finishing in a good moment and I really think he is going to go.”
