A COUNCIL all-terrain vehicle (ATV) became stuck in the sand on the beach before another vehicle got stuck trying to retrieve it.
The vehicle got stuck at Branksome beach at around 9.45am on Saturday, May 11 while out on patrol.
The council said the sand on the beach presents ‘a nature of operational challenges, even for four wheel drive vehicles’.
A larger patrol vehicle then tried to retrieve the ATV, but was unsuccessful, and got stuck.
Both vehicles were then retrieved by a seafront tractor shortly after midday.
A BCP Council spokesperson said: “A small BCP Council All-terrain vehicle (ATV) became stuck on Branksome Beach at approximately 9:45 am on Saturday whilst conducting standard patrolling. Sand presents a nature of operational challenges, even for four-wheel drive vehicles.
“A larger patrol vehicle aimed to retrieve the ATV, but due to the conditions on the beach, was unsuccessful. A seafront tractor was successful in retrieving both vehicles just after midday in a safe and orderly manner.”
